Signage for Back Lane. The example sign is, according to Highways, illegal and therefore should not be used. Alternative proposals required.
Verge disintegration along Thorncliffe Road raised with Highways ref 4318018.
- Planning
- SMD/2023/0137 Former Anzio Camp, Buxton Road, Blackshaw Moor, Leek, Staffordshire, ST13 8TN. Change of use to a holiday park (caravan site) including ancillary social centre and facilities, car parking and landscaping.
This matter was discussed. The consensus was that although improvement to the site would be welcome there is insufficient information to make an informed decision. The apparent nature and scale of the undertaking is out of keeping with the area and would overwhelm the local infrastructure and facilities. A new planning application should be submitted. The council cannot support this application and it should be refused. Clerk to write to SMDC.
- SMD/2023/0140 New Dains, Buxton Road, Upper Hulme, ST13 8TT. Alterations and extensions to existing property.
The matter was discussed and there were no objections. Clerk to write to SMDC.
- Financial
Bank balance £2,861.20.
- Correspondence
None.
- Any other business
- Concern was raised about the state of roads and also the amount of water along the Buxton Road.

Cllr R. Barker, on behalf of the council thanked Cllr. Heath, who is standing down as a District Councillor, for her hard work and support during her time in office. Cllr Howard presented her with a bouquet. Cllr Heath requested her thanks and appreciation be formally recorded.
