The minutes of the last meeting were proposed as a correct record by Cllr J. Dinning and seconded by Cllr H. Burns.

Back Lane, Thorncliffe
The provision of signage to prevent HGV access was discussed. It was agreed that Cllr G. Heath would organise a site meeting with Dave Rushton from Highways to review signage and determine what can be done to prevent vehicles leaving the road and damaging Mr Gould’s boundary wall.

Planning

SMD/2022/0031 Anzio Camp, Buxton Road, Blackshaw Moor. Variation of Conditions 2, 18, 18 & 19 and Removal of Conditions of 20, 21, 22 & 24 of SMD/2014/0683.
There was a wide-ranging discussion involving members of the public. The points made were:
– it was agreed that something needs to be done to the site;
– removing the residential units will adversely affect housing supply in Leek;
– the proposal would swamp the market with holiday cottages;
– job creation is a “myth” as current providers struggle to fill vacancies;
– the proposal would not support the local economy.It was concluded that the proposed changes are extensive enough that a new application should be made, the current application for variations should be refused.

SMD/2022/0107 Meadow Clough Farm, Thorncliffe Lane, Thorncliffe. Erection of Agricultural Building.
This matter was discussed and there were no objections.
